If you’re into mining you’ll know how frustrating it might get to keep a watch on power failures. If you forget to turn on the rigs, you’ll lose lot of mining hours, and hence revenue. To solve this, we can automate the entire process easily. You need not keep track of power cuts, simply automate the entire process and reap the benefit.
Make sure your computer / rig turns on by itself when the power is back. I’m using Biostar TB250-BTC PRO mother board.
Restart your computer and press Del button to enter Bios settings. Go to Advanced tab / section – ACPI Settings. In Restore AC Power Loss, select Power On.
Save new Bios settings and exit.
Enter Claymore folder, copy the start_only_eth file and paste its shortcut in startup folder.
Open Startup folder
Press windows + R, type shell:startup and enter. OR go to this folder directly C:\Users\%computer_name%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
In this folder, paste the shortcut of start_only_eth file.
Skip / Disable Windows login screen
Press windows + R button. Type netplwiz and enter.
Un-check Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, apply, ok.
Disable Sleep and Turn-off options
Go to your windows settings. Under System(Display, notifications, apps, power), Power & Sleep option.
Select Never in – When plugged in, turn of after.
Select Never in – When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after.
You can also disable Windows update, if you wish to. Because it needs system restart every time new updates are downloaded.
